last trivia night ever... and gifts... oh yeah and pics from canada

so... annie is rad... not only does she happen to share my birthday... she let me borrow her Q-Flash for the weekend... so thanks annie.. it was nice hanging out with ya today... now thats thats out of the way... tonight was the LAST trivia night ever... kinda sad... although it went like most trivia nights... everyone just sat around drank pbr and smoked on the porch untill about 11:30 then we had one round of 8 questions... to which one of the answers was neal diamond... fuck that guy... anyway... good night at the buzzo compound for the last time doing some trivia... afterwards lb and i headed up to capitol hill to say happy bday to chairity at the six arms... then we all headed up to stephanies studio apt to drink a few beers and tell some stories... pretty chill evening.. not alot of exciting news.. but I DID GET A GIFT when i got home... A MONOPOD... i guess i won it back in port townsend and the bogen guys finally sent it to me... so that was pretty cool... its not a fancy carbon fiber one like they said they were gonna send me but its damn light and seems like a smaller design then the one i use now... although ill probably sell this one cuz i really need some money... so if your interested hit me up... so thats that... thats my day today.. sorry its not super eventfull... now enjoy some pictures i took in canada.. and have a good day!

canada/24-7skatepark/poster

this is a few in one.... but its been a crazy couple days for sure... i went to canada on saturday and hung out with cassi which always makes my heart jump a lil bit... we didnt really do to much up there except visit the vancouver art gallery and check out some monets, van goahs, piccassos, and dalis (i cant spell so dont get mad).... dali in person is amazing i suggest checking it out... oh yeah and i got to check out stanley park finally... rad lil park... saw an eagle and its mate or whatever eating a fish.. and some seagull trying to bug em to get the fish? it was amusing to say the least... ok next up... found out tonight that crossroads is open 24/7 and lit!... which is RAD cuz its a block away from my house... which means instead of typing this i could be skating... but im not... so your lucky i guess? which brings up a small chance that i might be moving in with jesse to a apartment at skatebarn... its only 500 a month... for the WHOLE thing... so it would be hella cheap and id have full access to a huge skatepark... which would be cool too.. anyway enough about that... the big thing is that i got a call from jesse today saying that black flys (they make sunglasses) wants to make a poster out of one of my pics of jesse... this is nice because for one... its alot of money.. and would make my oregon trip another money making trip... and also it woudl be rad to see a photo i took turned into a poster... crazy thing is its not even one of my awesome shots... its only a simple snapshot i got a burnside... anyway im tired... im going to bed... heres the picture they want to use just for some visual pleasure....

OREGON: day five (washington)

Well.... after taking over driving duties somewhere in the HOH rainfores at about 3 in the morning cuz jesse was about to pass out... we continued our "springbreak/summer skate tour" towards Port angeles... everyone in the back was either wasted... or getting wasted off brass monkeys and PBRs while i was trying to stay awake... with the help of the whole trips theme song "fear of the dark" by maiden.. finally... after having high hopes of a dennys or all night diner in Forks and there not being one... everyone passed out i drank a double shot super coffee thing and tried to push on to P.A.. I found myself pulling over at cressent lake which is in the Olyimpic National Park or forest or something... its beautiful up there... so i had to stop.. and crashing out in a national park is alot better then crashing out in a dennys parking lot or skatepark parking lot in P.A... so i stumbled over to the lake.. snapped a few photos.. talked to joel about college... and then passed out...

Woke up at around 9 am and drove the final 20 miles into P.A and found a perfect dry empty skatepark... this being national "go skateboard day" i skated.. ive always wanted to skate the park there but its usually to busy or im to busy shooting photos... so it felt good to actually skate around for once... to bad everyone was exausted from the trip so there really wasnt any good reason to shoot photos... after skating for an hourish... yeah thats right we drove 5 hours out of our way to skate for an hour and not even shoot any photos... but hey... thats what road trips are for right? nothing beats spontanious decisions... ... so we headed to the ferry... stopped in kingston and found some of the manic crew there skating so we skated there for a while and realized why washington rocks... the vibe is so much better up here... after skating there for about another hour we go get in line for the ferry... which felt good... it was probably the first time on the trip that we felt at home... after getting off the ferry... we decided to make one more stop... MARGINAL... which closed the loop so to speak of out road trip as we made one huge loop around western washington and northwestern oregon.. plus... marginal is truely the park of washington so it was only fair to end it there... anyway it was an epic trip... it had everything... good friends... good skating.. crazy events... awesome sights... and tons of crazy quotes most of which i dont want to repeat here... its been a really good summer so far and im looking for whats around the next corner...

OREGON: day four

ok im posting this a day or so late... as i didnt have internet access on day four... but it was a good one... so here you go...

So I write this as Im cruising down highway 101… one of the most scenic drives in the world… only one problem… its two in the morning and its raining… but don’t worry I we got some Dylan playin on the radio and I have a nice frosty PBR… the reason we are driving up 101 you might ask?... well while in Lincoln city we decided to drive up to seaside to skate their new park and then head back home via 101 and stop at astoria on the way… well… first off… we slept a lil long in the nice getto hotel room I paid for but I took a shower so the whole deal was worth it… and we really wernt feeling Lincoln city although I did skate… yes… I skated… I even dropped into the bowl… i havnt really skated in so long, it felt good…. They even filmed me… so back to the trip… after leaving Lincoln we headed up to seaside… the crazy part of this is that we watched “the 300” which is probably one of the most epic movies ive ever watched… although halfway through the movie we stopped just shy of cannon beach and played in the ocean… I took some ocean pictures… got my feet wet.. and pretty much fell in love with the ocean.. I WANT TO LEARN HOW TO SURF! So after we finally realized that the ociean in the northwest is really fucking cold… we drove into seaside.. found the park.. and low and behold we find yet another crew on a skate trip.. this time its Benji Galloway and his lil crew of people from san fran… its crazy that there was at least three crews driving around Oregon at one time… after skating seaside which is a crazy lil park with what looks like LOTS of transfers… to bad it was pretty much packed with lil kids… and not to mention a baseball game going RIGHT next door… and every foul ball seemed to find its way into the skatepark for some reason? Which is scary.. shouldn’t have to worry about baseballs while skateboarding… anyway… here comes the funniest part of the day so far.. after skating we decieded to “sleep on the beach” so we headed into town to find us some ladies to join us… oh yeah.. and I probably found the most annoying girls EVER at the skatepark… who we saw AGAIN in town… this time dressed up like total WHORES… one… who was probably the ugliest girl ive ever seen. Was wearing a mini skirt thing.. a jacket and a bra… I felt like getting sick… the worst part was we kept seeing her and her annoying friend everywhere we went.. and they kept trying to get us to go to their “bonfire” on the beach… anyway no one wants to hear about stupid girls in a stupid lil tourist town in Oregon… so ill get on with the fact that we spent probably three hours trying to figure out what to do.. which we ended up deciding on driving a lil further up the coast and sleeping on a beach outside of town.. away from stupid “beezies” as we like to call em up here… so found a place on the map called “del ray beach” or something like that… which seemed like a good place… until we get over the dunes and theres NO WHERE to even have a fire… unless it was right on the ocean… so we hike back to the van… and decide to go to longbeach… and then we decide we want to go to port angeles… which in case you don’t know… is up near Canada… so there I am now… on the road to P.A… we just passed wesport and only have 140 miles to go… hopefully its dry…

OREGON: day tree

well... after a long night of crazyness... involving drunken skating down stairs... most of which was switch.. smoking hookah.. drinking PBR and of course... more guitar hero... woke up and headed to Pier park... waited in traffic for an hour and a half just to get to the other side of portland and skated pier... it was way to hot to stand around and watch skating so i took a nap in the shade... then tried to shoot some photos but it was way to sunny and i didnt feel like taking photos anyway... to much fun the night before i guess?... then after waiting for linderman to bring us a case of kronic energy drink for the rest of the drink we finally head out of portland for our next stop on the oregon tour.. NEWBERG!... still BLAZING hot... although newberg is sick... its just like a snowboard park... but made out of concrete!... again it was to hot and way to bright to take any good photos so i just hung around in the shade and watched... but i can vouch that the park is legit and everyone should visit it once in their lifetime.. anyway... on to the next stop.. MCMINVILLE! which was pretty cool... showed up just as the good light was coming out so i was happy... pretty core lil session going on with some guys from the indy team just wrapping up some filming from the day... it turns out they are on the same agenda as us... hit up all the oregon parks... and their next stop is lincoln city... same as us.. so it should be a good day tomorrow... heres a couple shots from mcminville (its very unedited but it will do the trick for now)


After getting a couple shots in mcminville we load up the van... and head out to lincoln city... we get there hoping to find a place on the beach to sleep... but we found a real cheap hotel to hold up in instead... which is gonna be nice seeing how we all need showers and seeing how this is the northwest... the beach is really cold at night... plus i paid for it so i get the bed... and first shower so im set!... after heading down to the beach for a small bonfire we stumble back to the hotel.. set off the smoke alarm (in a smoking room non the less) trying to fire up the hookah... jump around on the beds for a while and settle into bed... tomorrow is lincoln city... then we head up to seaside then astoria... then drive up 101 back to seattle... this might be my last lil blog untill i get back so ill fill you in as i get the chance... this trip has been a pretty epic lil journey and its making me look forward to all the trips i have lined up in the next few months... heres some pics from the bonfire and mild hotel thrashing...Enjoy!

OREGON: day two

Well... after staying up for basicly the whole night.... woke up around 9:30... packed into the van and headed to where else... but mcdonalds... which i must say had the biggest "bitch" of a server ever... and the most crackheads around it too... but thats not important... we then headed to the glenhaven park... which is someplace on the eastside of portland.... it was packed at 10:30 in the morning... so i watched everyone skate around for a while... get snaked... and have some kid try to show up jesse after every trick he did.... then we headed back to the bacon compoud and rounded up another van load of troops and headed out to burnside... but first stopped by the bacon HQ... in the meantime i ran down to a pretty good lil food CO-OP in the "ballard/freemont"ish area of portland... had a pretty good lil smoothie and some awesome organic grapes... then got back in the van and headed to bum central! (burnside).... watched people skate.. and tried to snap a few photos using ambient light... i only got one i liked but i found alot of good angles.... heres my favorite from burnside...

After burnside... we headed back to the bacon compound in east portland... they played some guitar hero while i unloaded some photos... then headed back to glenhaven.... it was to sunny to shoot any really good photos so i watched people skate.. untill jesse wanted to go search for porn... which is what jesse does EVERYTIME he comes to oregon... this time it was TABOO video... which was just your average porno superstore.. untill we walked into the lil "peep show booths" and i saw the "glory hole" section... which scared the hell out of me cuz everytime iw ent in to see if there actually WAS a hole, there was always some really sketch dude peepin me seeing if i was gonna walk inside... so i didnt... it was that scary... anyway there ended up being a hole... i dont want to talk about it... hahah... anyway back to glenhaven.. the light was perfect.. i got some shots... they will be posted at the end of this... anyway now its partytime... which means halo and guitar hero.. and lots of beer drinking... now enjoy the pictures!





OH yeah... we are probably heading out to the coast tomorrow... so there might not be an update for a couple days... but ill try my best... thanks for reading all this nonesense...

OREGON: day one

we pile into jesses van which was supprisingly clean... then stop by safeway so all the freshly graduated HS kids can load up on donuts... while i buy apples... then drive 3 hours to battleground so we can get there by 11:00 so the lights will still be on... but oh... dont worry the lighting is so shitty it might as well have been pitch black... it wasnt even worthy taking out my shitty point and shoot to take a shitty photo... nothing special really execpt for some redneck skater dressed up in carharts saying that "the park is to much for jesse" cuz he ran out of a rock to fakie... cuz it was dark as hell... anyway like i said nothing special so we left for portland so we could stay at the bacon compound... to which all the kids immediatly found the halo... and jesse found the guitar hero... and now that its 4 in the morning... and we have a dennys to hit up before we get to burnside in the morning... im gonna head to bed... so heres a pic from way back i got at marginal of jesse... cuz i was lazy today and didnt take any photos... so enjoy!

FINALLY LB'S 21!.... THATS RIGHT... SHES GONNA BE BROKE SOON! hahah well she will as soon as she finds out just how much it costs to go out to the bars everynight... shes gonna wish she was back on her front porch drinking 6 dollor 12 packs of PBR.. hahah anyway thats the bad part.. the rest is the good part... so i would have posted this last night... but it was a late.. as in i got home at 4 in the morning... it was probably one of the best 21 runs ive ever been on and it surely made me jealouse as my 21 run was pretty boring in comparision... first off... she had a late start as she starrted pretty much the minute she turned 21.. yeah thats right... she stood outside the KNARR waiting but didnt have to wait long cuz as soon as she stepped foot in the door... she had a wiskey on the rocks waiting for her... along with a gin and tonic.. and the rest is a blur... but i remember getting free drinks for her at the bar... she always had two drinks in her hand and she held them well... i think about 40 mins in she had a lil rough spot... but she found a flashlight so she was set for the rest of the evening.. anyway here at the pictures... thanks again for turning 21 lindsay... its gonna be a fun summer from here on out... trust me... its nice beeing "of age"

I did it!

yup... thats me in the funny hat... graduating... i never thought i would get to this point in my life... after all i didnt finish highschool... waited a couple years before i got my GED... and then waited a few more years before really settling down into a real college experience... but it was worth every minute... i dont think ive ever felt more complete and yet also filled with the feeling of "ok whats next... its all up to me!"... anyway it was a good day there was confussion but it probably made it more fun and memorable then if it went smooth and as planned.. but thats how the class of 07 commercial photo rolls... we rock it! i wish the whole class would have walked but it still felt good to walk with the people i did... so thanks bethany... thanks john.. thanks ashley,, thanks megan... thanks zech... thanks stephanie... and thanks kelsy! and thanks chairity for sitting in the crowd and taking photos... i wish you would have walked with us but its ok... you get to tell the story of the confussion from the publics point of view...

Fell in love again!

seriously i did.... its rad... and ill tell you ALL about it after i tell you about my day... ANYWAY... so... today cassi moved to canada... vancouver to be exact.. to start her new life as a film student at vancouver film school (i know nothing about it but it sounds like a pretty rad lil program).. anyway i went and helped her and her roomate rachel move... AKA i got to carry a bunch of heavy boxes.... up a steep ass flight of stairs... and one hideabed couch and two fullsize beds... i had rachels dad for help.. he came with a warning... "he talks ALOT"... no problem... i talk ALOT too... i can battle this guy in the talking war!... he turned out to be pretty hilarious.. anyway... heres some pictures from my day... oh yeah.. and the weather... AWESOME... i love visiting canada.. im gonna visit more often now that i have a friend living up there...

anyway seeing how its thursday... it was TRIVIA NIGHT!... so around 8ish i got up... put on a brand new shirt thanks to the homies at SESSIONS (im really starting to like those guys)... and showed up at LB's house... first off let me say the sky today... fucking AWESOME... i wish i was shooting tonight.. cuz the clouds around sunset were fucking RAD!!!! anyway pretty uneventufull trivia... stupid hipster friends of LB's showed up... ignored everyone cuz hipsters only talk to hipsters... or lindsay... i dont know... its probably just that hot girls dont talk to me? anyway... started trivia... THREE ROUNDS OF THREE QUESTIONS.... who would have thought? well... thanks to nick the questions are always REALLY f-ing hard... so it was a tie between my team... "something about a hangover i forgot the name but im putting it in quotes anyway" and "www.stewardphotography-sucks.com" (not a real website so dont go to it).... oh and seeing how it was a tie... the questions were just as hard... although i got ABBA... which was rad and saved our teams ass... oh yeah... it went 5 rounds of overtime too... which sucked... cuz i really wanted to win... and i totaly would have let renees team win after that cuz i was sick of it... anyway... final question was "what instrument did bo diddly play... which is easy... a fucking GUITAR!... anyway moral to the story... i won.. thats two trivias in a row!... im on fire!... anyway now thanks to annie calling me and keeping me from finishing this i should wrap it up... im going to canada tomorrow... to help cassi move... just for the day but i might go visit her next week for a couple days and meet up with some canadian photogs for some expensive beer and chit chat... anyway check out some trivia night drunken photos... not the greatest but it was fun.. as always... enjoy!
